About the picture
Unpainted wood turns silver-grey over the years, and this old boathouse has gone completely grey. It stands on stilts at the edge of the lake, doubled by a clear reflection, while reeds rise in the foreground and spruces fade into the fog behind. Almost all colour has drained out of the scene.
