Aurora over the sea ice

Jigsaw · 12 to 198 pieces

About the picture

Where the sea freezes, wind and currents push the ice into slabs and ridges, and snow settles over all of it. The picture looks across that rough surface toward a low islet with a few wind-bent pines, while a curtain of green aurora with violet tops lights the ice from above.

Computer-generated scene; it does not show a specific real place.

How to approach this jigsaw

Start with the frame: switch on Edges and only border pieces stay on the table. After the frame, build the parts with strong shapes and colour: the ice slabs, the rocky islet, the aurora band.

Leave for the end: the night sky, the ice. Pieces from these areas look alike, so match them by the shape of their tabs and blanks rather than by colour.
