About the picture
When the aurora is almost straight overhead, its rays seem to meet at a single point — a perspective effect known as a corona. Here the rays fan out in green and violet over a bare, snow-covered fell, while small spruces in the foreground are so loaded with snow and rime that they look like pale columns lit from above.
Computer-generated scene; it does not show a specific real place.
How to approach this swap puzzle
A tile that lands in its correct place locks and gets an outline, so every good swap is permanent. Start with tiles that are easy to place by eye: the aurora rays, the snow-loaded spruces, the stars.
Then fill the picture area by area. The slow part: the night sky, the open snow. Use the preview button to compare tiles from these areas with the full picture.

Large areas of nearly one tone — a slow, absorbing puzzle. A smaller size makes a good warm-up. Demanding →
