Aurora corona above the fell

Rotate tiles · 6 to 40 tiles

About the picture

When the aurora is almost straight overhead, its rays seem to meet at a single point — a perspective effect known as a corona. Here the rays fan out in green and violet over a bare, snow-covered fell, while small spruces in the foreground are so loaded with snow and rime that they look like pale columns lit from above.

Computer-generated scene; it does not show a specific real place.

How to approach this rotation puzzle

The aurora rays all lead toward one spot high in the sky. Turn each sky tile until its streaks point toward that spot.

Easy to orient: the aurora rays, the snow-loaded spruces, the stars. Slow to orient: the night sky, the open snow. A tile turned three quarters needs only one turn back — right-click or Shift+Enter.

Large areas of nearly one tone — a slow, absorbing puzzle. A smaller size makes a good warm-up. Demanding →
