All the tiles are already in the right places, but each one is turned by a quarter, a half or three quarters. Tap to turn them until the picture is upright. It sounds easy until the sky, the snow or a view from above gets involved.
How to play
Tap or click a tile to turn it a quarter turn clockwise. Right-click, or press Shift+Enter on a keyboard, to turn it back a quarter.
The puzzle is solved when every tile is upright. Tiles do not lock in this game, so you can keep adjusting any tile until the end.
The size sets the number of columns, from 3 to 8, and the rows follow the 3:2 shape of the picture — 6 to 40 tiles in all.
Hint points to a tile that is turned wrongly, Undo steps back, and Show picture opens a preview of the finished scene.
Strategy that works
Look for direction cues before you start tapping. Horizons are level, tree trunks stand vertical and taper upward, snow rests on top of branches, smoke and light rise, animals stand on their legs. Most tiles hold at least one of these.
Fix the clear tiles first, then use them as references. A plain tile of sky next to a finished tree tile can be judged by how the shade changes across the edge they share.
Use turning back. A tile that is three quarters out needs three taps forward but only one turn back — right-click or Shift+Enter — which saves moves.
Reflections are a trap: in a lake picture the lower half shows the scene upside down on purpose. Find the waterline first and decide which side of it each tile belongs to.
Pictures seen from above have no up or down at all. Treat them as a line-following puzzle: shores, roads and rivers have to continue smoothly from one tile to the next.
Questions and answers
How many taps does a tile need at most?
Three taps clockwise, or a single turn back. No tile is ever more than two quarter turns from upright if you choose the shorter direction.
Why don’t correct tiles lock?
In a rotation puzzle a tile can look right while being upside down, especially in plain areas. Leaving tiles free lets you correct them later.
Which pictures are hardest?
Views from straight above, because they have no sky and no natural up, and pictures with large plain areas such as fog, snow or night sky.
Can I use a keyboard?
Yes. Arrow keys move a cursor over the tiles, Enter or Space turns a tile clockwise and Shift+Enter turns it back.
Is my game saved?
Yes, in this browser, after every move — including your undo history. Each picture keeps its own saves.
